We Don't Serve Robots

A robot walks into a bar,
Orders a drink, lays down a bill.
The bartender says, "Hey, we don't serve robots,"
And the robot says, "No, but someday you will."

So, for those who haven't been around K'zoo, or those who have been, but haven't been paying attention, it looks like Boogies will be back. Well, not Boogie's, per se, but a new business calling itself "Ravenwood Cafe." While it totally sounds as though I'm likely to be eaten by a grue or something, I think I'm going to have to check it out and see what they do with the place.

Personally, as a lover of history, I'm a little pissed that they ripped down the sign on the side of the building that said Oakland, which was a vestigial reminant of the Oakland Pharmacy which used to inhabit the premises long before Ali Baba's, or Boogie's Cafe, or Boogie Records.

I wonder if Bruce White will be back with his poems and incessant chatter about who our favorite robots are?

Also of note, Haider's restaurant downtown, The State Diner, has been sold. The new owners have kept the name, but are now serving traditional American food, and have the coolest jukebox I've seen in a long time.
