ZTV Short History

For those of you that missed it, here are clips taken from the first ever second-generation ZTV, the Halloween Stories episode. It's a classic in it's own right, with lots of nostalgic pictures and, of course, the acclaimed pictures of Nick scratching his leg a lot.

ZTV History

The second generation of ZTV started long ago and far away. Well, in 1996 and on Crosstown Parkway. But still, it seems like so long ago that this episode aired. It was the Halloween Stories episode, and it features some really great shots of ZTV in it's infancy. So, without further ado, to the pictures!

Well, I'll start off with Chauncey. Although not his first time on Community Access, that having been a priceless episode of What's Your Beef that was on about a year earlier, this is the first footage we have of him on Access. Looking quite dapper there in your sailor suit, Chauncey.

And here is an early Jason Reese, who now does another Access show called Freaks & Punks. He also did Comedy Corner on ZTV in the 1999-2000 season. He's sitting on the now-historical ZTV sofa thing, er, whatever you'd call it.

Nope, haven't listening to too much Sympathy for the Devil. This is Matthew Clysdale, who was the first instructor here at ZTV. Well, that's indeed a frightening shot ...but I guess it fits for a Halloween show...

Through my years of ZTV watchership, here's a fellow whose name I had no clue, until Matt Lohrstorfer identified him as Chris Poe. He was apparently amongst the originals of ZTV, but has long-since faded off into oblivion...

Ah, the simplistic days before Final Cut Pro and Cinema 4D. Yep, this special effect was achieved by aiming the camera at the monitor in the studio. It's actually quite mesmerizing to watch.

Here's a shot of a young Matt Lohrstorfer. Actually, Matt helped me compile these pictures, so he really deserves a shoutout.

And the last picture goes with a long story. This is Nick Lucking, who was on the show until the 1999-2000 season. Upon viewing this episode, everyone noticed that Nick had been slowly rubbing his leg. It wasn't really apparent until it was fast-forwarded, but ever since he's been known as the kid who rubbed his leg on the Halloween Episode. Gad... that's really disgusting.

And, after all these years, ZTV is still going strong. And, yet, set is still strangely familiar....
